Physical Therapy

The Goal Of Physical Therapy Is To Restore Your Ability To Move Without Pain Or Limitation. We Call This “Functional Mobility”. There Are Many Reasons Why You Might Have Pain When You Move – An Injury Or Accident, Age, Repetitive Use In A Sport, At Work Or At Home, And Many Others.

Consider Starting With A Physical Therapist

There are many types of doctors available to you. Physical therapists are specifically trained to diagnose the root cause of mobility limitations. Then, we personalize a treatment plan for you using the best tools, techniques, and exercises to improve your mobility and fitness so that your gains can stay once you’re finished.

What We Work on in Physical Therapy

Sports-Related Injuries

Playing just about any sport long enough can lead to an injury in some part of your body. Swimmers can hurt their shoulders; golfers can hurt their backs, knees, or elbows; and baseball and softball players can hurt their arms, for example. Sometimes, sports-related injuries are due to overuse. Sometimes, they’re due to the athlete asking too much of their body. As physical therapists, we treat many patients with sports-related injuries.

Injuries Due to No-Fault Car Accidents

Patients with injuries due to car accidents can have any number of mobility limitations. We treat many patients who have been in car accidents. You can learn more about what we do on our no-fault car accident claims page.

Work-Related Injuries

Patients who suffer an injury at work come to us with many problems. We see everything from lower back injuries to repetitive stress injuries to more extreme mobility limitations. You can learn more about what we do on our workers comp claims page.

Repetitive Stress Injuries

Repetitive stress injuries are just like they sound – by repeating a motion more often than your body can handle, you create an injury. These injuries can happen at work, at home, or while doing activities. They’re sometimes also called repetitive motion injuries or overuse syndromes. Repetitive stress injuries include carpal tunnel syndrome, bursitis, tendonitis, tennis elbow, inflammation around the wrist, trigger finger, and others. They can have a number of causes, including awkward motions, overexertion, poor posture, or muscle fatigue. They can impact almost any part of your body. We treat many types of repetitive stress injuries, including those we list here.

Shoulder Rotator Cuff Tears

Rotator cuff tears are common in sports (ex, baseball, tennis), at work (ex, painting, cleaning windows), and at home. You might have a rotator cuff tear (partial or complete) if it hurts to raise your arm, hear a clicking when you move your arm, or feel like your shoulder is weaker than it used to be. We see and treat many patients with rotator cuff tears.

Torn Meniscus (Cartilage) In Your Knee

A torn meniscus is a very common knee injury. If you feel pain in your knee, if it’s swollen or stiff, if it’s difficult to straighten your knee out, or if it feels locked in place, you might have torn your meniscus. A torn meniscus happens when you forcefully twist your knee, especially if you happen to put a lot of weight on it when you twist. We see patients who have torn their meniscus playing a sport, while at work, and even when they were at home.
